Cliveden House

This portfolio piece showcases how thoughtful, immersive copy can elevate an already well-written travel description. The aim? To enrich the sensory detail, heighten the emotional tone, and bring the history and appeal of Cliveden house to life.
My Written Description
Steeped in layers of history, Cliveden House sits in secluded grandeur amid 376 acres of Grade I listed National Trust gardens. Once a gift by the 2nd Duke of Buckingham for his mistress, It now lives on as a five-star award winning hotel nestled in the charming green English countryside, just an hour outside of London.
Within its walls, whispers of aristocratic affairs and scandal still linger, from secret liaisons to the infamous Profumo affair.
Today, Cliveden offers quiet opulence: sweeping staircases, manicured terraces, and suites rich in heritage. It doesn’t just invite you to stay — it allows you to step into history.
Why I wrote it like this

With Cliveden House, my aim was to capture both its aristocratic grandeur and the intrigue woven through its history. The copy leans into evocative, image-rich language — from sweeping staircases to whispered scandals, while staying concise and composed. I wanted the setting to feel alive with past and present: a place where luxury meets legacy, and where every room holds a story. The goal was to reflect not just where Cliveden is, but what it feels like to arrive there.
